Our Ministries Holy Trinity Episcopal School: Holy Trinity Episcopal School provides a safe, caring environment for students with special learning needs. The curriculum is structured to meet state requirements. The school is staffed with seven instructors, including the headmaster. At present, there are 26 students (9 girls and 17 boys) in grades 6-12. Twenty-two students attend under the McKay Scholarship for Students with Disabilities and two are receiving Children First Scholarships for low income families. Last spring we received approximately $55,000 dollars in grant money for teaching supplies. The school budget is typically supplemented by donations of school supplies from parishioners, who also donate gifts for students at Christmas. School Golf Program: With sponsorship from The Villages Tri-County Junior Golf Program, a number of parishioners serve as golf coaches for Holy Trinity Episcopal School students. We are in "full swing" with our program, practicing at the school weekly during golf seasons. We created a driving range onsite and use equipment donated by parishioners. There are plans to build a three-hole course on church property in the future. We have had outings to one of The Villages driving ranges to practice chipping, sand work, putting and the students' all-time favorite, driving. They are doing GREAT, learning new skills and the self-discipline inherent in playing golf. After our first season, any student wanting clubs, bag, and balls will be given them free of charge. We are planning two to three seasons per school year. Holy Hackers: The Holy Hackers, a group of parishioners who enjoy the game of golf and getting together for a good time, meet monthly to play a nine-hole golf scramble. This ongoing social ministry provides an opportunity for members of our two service congregations, "Eight O'clocker's" and "Ten O'clocker's", to get to know each other better outside of the Sunday morning church services. The golf games and lunch afterward are allowing us to find that Holy Trinity Episcopal Church is made up of very caring folks with diverse backgrounds and common goals - to serve the Lord, to comfort those around us, and to enjoy life to its fullest.
Parish Dinner Dances: Having become a parish that came together mainly for worship services, we’ve begun several ministries to enrich our communal life, to strengthen the bonds between us and to foster the desire for shared ministries in our daily communities. The Fellowship Folks sponsored three major fellowship events this year: a dinner dance in May, and dance with a luau theme in October, and the parish's first Dickens Christmas dinner in December. Each was a charming and blessed time and, collectively, they have been sources for growing community activity.
